Setup Guide

Setting up a FriendNet server is pretty easy, provided you have very basic administration skills.

🚨 IMPORTANT

Read all the instructions before reporting setup issues. You can also find a list of common issues on the Troubleshooting page.

You can install it on virtually any hardware and operating system, provided your OS has at least 100mb of RAM free and Go can compile programs for it.

You will need to forward a port (ideally port 20038) for UDP traffic if you are hosting from your house. Otherwise, you can use any number of VPS providers.

First, select the operating system you will be installing the server on:

Linux

Docker

Anything Else (Compile Yourself)
